i am a catholic and i completey agree that the Da Vinci code is false. i have know idea why everyone is getting so worked up over somthing that is COMPLETLEY FALSE. some one accused the bible of being fiction wich is also completley FALSE so get ur pants unbunched and just agree with the majority that the Da Vinci code is completley false. THIS NOVEL WAS PUBLISHED AS FICTION.

FAITH isn’t based on fact, just what you believe. If you believe the Da vinci Code, then you have FAITH in the author. And really, people, quit using “u” instead of “you” and “2″ instead of “to/too”, it makes you sound more of an idiot than conflicting beliefs ever could.

Some one, I am a little confused as to what you think the Bible is. the Bible is not a collection of all ancient literature concerning God or Jesus. The Bible is a collection of books canonized by the council of nicea in like 300 A.D. the council had strict guidelines for deciding what books were or were not included. Authorship was one of the most important deciding factors especially concerning the gospels. They had to be eyewitness accounts or at least have close access to personal testimony of an eyewitness (like the gospel of Mark). It had to be written in close proximity to the actual life of Jesus. It had to be historically viable, you couldn’t just claim old thing was true. If the majority of the scholars thought that the book not correct it was not included. Thus the gospel of Judah was probably not forgotten in these tests. If it was not accepted it was probably because it was not written by Judas (obviously he could not record his own death) and it probably wasn’t written with and proximity to Jesus’ actual life. It was also probably wildly incorrect. So in conclusion the Bible is complete regardless of the existence of the gnostic gospels. P.S. sorry for any misspellings I trust we are all mature enough to not throw a way my points because I type to fast for my mind to keep up.

The important is that “Everything can exist unless the contrary is proved” ! This book IS work of fiction, but it express the opinion of the author, and his conclusions over the religion stuff he studied. It is NOT an “anti-christian” book, and must not be taken for that. And let’s NOT forget a recent discovery that the Pope tried to prohibit : the book of Judas. This means the current Bible is NOT complete… maybe it was before. But no one can prove it, nor the contrary.

The book wasn’t intended to be a ‘bash’ at christianity. It was just intended to provoke thought in the reader, as Dan Brown himself stated :- “each individual reader must explore these characters‚Äô viewpoints and come to his or her own interpretations” Personally, I love films and fiction like that, with a deep meaning that makes you question, and think. The whole thing is based on interpretations of facts, and theories. In all probablilty the existence of the ‘holy grail’ or sang real (holy bloodline) is debateable, but there is a certain romance in century-old secrets and mysteries that make you want to believe that it’s true.

The book was awesome! As soon as the movie came out i went to see it. Well if the bible is so true then, why do they (whoever) keep editing it? Why is there a need to be edited? Changes made till now. Doesnt make sense. And if jesus is the son of god, why dont just pray to god then. Why jesus.

Perhaps some of you need to re-read this book, some of you maybe need to actually read it first before you even comment. This novel isn’t saying that there is no God, and it’s not saying that Jesus didn’t exist. It’s just providing a counter viewpoint based in real historical texts, paintings, and events, that perhaps the bible is not as accurate or complete as most think. The bible isn’t some book that God just magically produced and man picked it up and said “thanks” it is a historical compilation of inspiring stories and ideas, that “can” be a good basis for life and relationships. All religions have ancient text and/or history, but they can’t all be from god. Who is to say the other is wrong? One thing is for certain God probably wouldn’t want anyone to follow something blindly. also, someone made the comment of being fearful of God. Why should I fear God? You fear tyrants. God should be embraced with love and comfort, not fear! There is a quote that says “Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering.” I fear evil, not God. God I embrace! I am not telling you what to believe in, that is your choice. God gave us free will, that includes thought. Anytime you do not use it is a shame. The devil would want us to live in ignorance because it would suit him best. Don’t believe everything you hear. Religion shouldn’t be an easy decision. Life is all about struggle and duality. Good and evil, heaven and hell, satan and God. The right answer is not easy to find otherwise everyone would do it without hesitation. one thing is certain that ignorance and arrogance are not the work of God. Those who claim to be of him should be mindful of that.

Let me leave you with a thought. If the bible was such a perfect text, would we even be having this conversation.
